SEND
Girlington Primary School is an inclusive and accessible school. We also have a Resourced Provision (RP) for Deaf and Hearing Impaired pupils that is led by Bradford Local Authority.
At Girlington Primary School, we endeavour to plan and deliver lessons that support all pupils’ needs and challenge them to make accelerated progress.
When a pupil has special educational needs (SEND) or is making slower than expected progress, provision is adapted to help pupils make progress; this may be adapting tasks in lessons, providing additional resources or providing an intervention, among other strategies.
We implement a graduated approach as recommend by Bradford Council. This is based on an Assess-Plan-Do-Review structure.
If you are concerned that your child may have a special educational need need please make an appointment to speak to either your class teacher or Mrs Brewis, who is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo). They will listen to your concerns and work with you to decide on some next steps. You can make an appointment to see to speak to Mrs Brewis by contacting the school office on 01274 493543.
