Phonics

At Girlington Primary school we are committed to ensuring that all of our pupils become confident and enthusiastic readers. Research shows that the best way to teach the foundations for reading is through a systematic synthetic phonics programme. At Girlington Primary School we use the DFE validated programme ‘Little Wandle’ to plan and deliver daily phonics lessons to all children in Reception and Year 1.
