Mrs Ward and Mrs Christensen have a message for you

Friday 17th July 2020

Good morning GEMS, Today is our last day of home learning as school finishes today for the summer holidays. I hope the weather is going to get better so that we can have lots of fun playing out in the sunshine and eat lots of yummy ice creams. Today, let's have some fun getting ready for summer.

Thank you all for taking part in the home learning activities. Stay safe, have a great summer holiday and we will see you in September.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

What might you see at the seaside? Have you ever been to the beach? Did you play in the sand? Can you make a seaside picture? If you would like  to print these pictures click here.

Good morning GEMS. Did you enjoy Mrs Anderson's story?

Today Mrs Christensen has been reading the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Listen to her story and then have fun doing some of the activities.

Have a great day!

Maths

Listen to this song about Goldilocks and see if you can count 1,2,3

Have you got 3 teddies? Are they big, small or tiny? Can you pretend to give them some porridge - maybe you can count 1,2,3 bowls and 1,2,3 spoons.

Sensory play

Put some porridge in a bowl or tub and let children play with it with their hands or with different scoops/spoons. Can they scoop it and put it into a bowl?

We are looking forward to seeing you all in September and for those of you moving up to Nursery, you new teachers are really looking forward to meeting you. Can you draw a picture of yourself for Mrs Anderson and you new teachers?

Number Rhyme of the week

Listen and sing along to 5 current buns. Count how many buns are left each time 1 is taken away. Use some coins to act out the song at home.

Mark making

Put some flour in a tray or tub and use your fingers and hands to make marks in it. You could even drive your cars in it and see what marks they leave. If you have scoops and a rolling pin, use them to roll, fill and pour.

Creative

Make some playdough buns with a red cherry on top. You could also make some real buns to eat - all you need is flour, sugar, butter, eggs and milk.

Role play

Set up you own shop - you can pretend to sell food, toys, anything you like. If you can, practise playing with a few real coins and count how many you have.
