Girlington Primary School

If your child is at home because they are isolating and they are well enough, here are some things that we would like them to do everyday whilst they are at home:

  1. Listen to a story read by one of the teachers (click on the story time tab)
  2. Sing nursery rhymes
  3. Choose one thing to do each day from Hungry Little Minds
  4. Choose one thing to do each day from 50 Things

You can also help your child to learn through the little things you do with them everyday, for example:

  • everyday conversations
  • make-believe play
  • games with numbers or letters
  • reading together
  • involving them in the things you are doing, such as cooking and household jobs, and talking with them about it

Keeping a routine

Do not worry about trying to keep to the full routine that your child had in Gems however, children will feel more comfortable with a predictable routine, so try to make sure that they:

  • get up and go to bed at the same time each day
  • get dressed every day
  • have regular meal times
  • turn off any electronic devices, including the television, at least an hour before bedtime

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or need any help.

If you would like to share anything you have done at home please email us at early.years@girlingtonprimary.co.uk
