Tutorial videos

A couple videos to help explain how we teach some of the methods in maths.

Column Addition

Column Subtraction without exchanging

Exchanging is when the top digit is smaller than the bottom digit and would result in a negative number. Instead we take it from the next column (this is explained better in the next video- apologies for the mistake where I say the top number is *bigger* in this video!)

For example: 345

                   - 227         345 is clearly bigger than 227 but 5 - 7 would give us a                                             negative number, so we need to exchange.
