Tuesday 2nd February

Good morning everyone.

School is closed today because of the snow.

Please try to do this work at home.

Start by reading/signing the months of the year

Which month is it now?

Which month comes before May?

Which month comes after August?

Which month is between February and March

Which month is your birthday in?

Who is this?

How is she feeling? Why?

Read this on your own or get an adult to read it with you.

Rose was scared. She waited for her brother to come out of the tunnel. She waited for a long time but he did not come out. She started to cry. She did not know what to do. She went into the tunnel and followed her brother. She wanted to find him.

Write 4 sentences about what Rose might say, like this.

I am scared.

What do you think it was like in the tunnel?

Choose words from the list below. Draw a picture and write the words around it.

cold     dark      sunny     wet     exciting    scary    hot

Try to add some more words of your own

Use the number square to help you find the missing numbers:

47, 48, ___ , ___, ___

56, 58, ___, ___, ___

80, 70, 60, ___, ___, ___

20, 25, 30, ___, ___, ___

9, 12, 15 ___, ___, ___

Now try to make up some number sequences of your own. You cold count on or back in 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s or even 3s!

Add up the money in each purse.

Write number sentences like this. Start from the biggest number.

5p + 2p+ 1p+ 1p =

Write your own  money number sentences using 4 coins each time

e.g.  5p + 5p + 2p + 1p = 13p
