I wanted to share the idea of a visual daily timetable, to benefit your child in this unsettled time. We use a daily visual timetable with the children at school to provide structure to their day, help them understand the routine of the day and help them into becoming more independent. The visual prompt shows them that one task has finished and they are about to start another whilst helping them overcome difficulties such as joining in the activity. By showing your child what they are going to do today can reduce their anxiety, allowing your day at home to run more smoothly.
Below is an example of a visual daily timetable you can make to suit your daily routine. It is a great activity for you and your child to create together.
Here is the document I sent home in your child's Learning at Home Pack, with the recommended activities that you and your child can fit into their daily visual timetable.
