Parents' BSL Classes
Every Tuesday morning, our Deaf Instructor, Mrs Waring, teaches British Sign Language (BSL) classes to a group of parents. These are mostly parents of our profoundly deaf pupils, whose main mode of communication is through sign. This is a valuable tool in strengthening parent/pupil relationships because a shared language can develop. We greatly encourage as many parents as possible to attend the classes for this reason. Parents who do attend, report favourably on their improved communication with their children and they also welcome the chance to share common experiences.
The classes run between 9.30am and 10.30am. Parents can speak to an ARC member of staff for more information.
