In the ARC, we are particularly proud of the strong links and partnerships which we have built with parents. Parents are always welcome to come and speak, formally or informally, to any member of staff within the ARC and we are always ready to help in any way we can. Interpreters can always be arranged when needed.
We have a parents’ group who meet regularly. This meeting can be in the form of a social get together or a more formal session with speakers from organisations such as NDCS or Barnardo’s. The aims are far reaching and include offering support, guidance, information or just an ear to listen to any concerns or worries.
Visits are also arranged as regularly as possible. Most recently, a group of parents attended an Art class with a deaf artist. This gave them a chance to get to know each other better, learn new skills and enjoy something different. The feedback from this visit was fantastic and parents were definitely left wanting more!
