Outdoors

Children enjoy playing outside and learn a great deal from the outdoor environment. They are not only developing their physical skills but are learning across all areas of the curriculum.

We make outdoor play available all year round and sometimes this can be very messy! We therefore ask you to send children in clothes that you don’t mind them getting dirty, and are appropriate for the weather.

Please send a coat with a hood every day.  Even though it can sometimes be warm and sunny when you leave the house, the weather will often change, therefore children must always have a coat in school.  We will not make them wear it if the weather is nice.

When the weather is colder please send a hat, scarf and gloves into school so we can make sure your child is wrapped up warmly when they are outside.

On hot sunny days please apply sun cream before your child comes to school and send them with a sun hat.

All children in the foundation stage must have a pair of wellies in school, these must be named and kept in a bag on your child’s peg.

Please make sure that all your children’s clothing and footwear is named.
